How many people get to live their dreams? I am..........!

This is my story from the time when Capt'n John and I first decided to sail around the big block, to circumnavigate this great land of ours, AUSTRALIA.

Pirate Party at Dingo Beach

Sunday 26th – I woke up Sunday morning to another brilliant sunrise, without a headache and ready to start another day of fun, fun, fun!
MrJ and I had our usual Sunday cooked breakfast before going ashore dressed for the Pirate Party Lunch at the Dingo Beach Pub which we had to catch a ride to with the free shuttle bus. We did through a handful of coins in the donation box.
Pirate Party at the Dingo beach Pub
The Dingo Beach Pub http://www.truelocal.com.au/business/dingo-beach-hotel-and-holiday-units/dingo-beach is situated in the small village of Dingo Beach on Dingo Beach some 50ks from Airlie Beach. The whole area has a laid back atmosphere that is a welcome change from the major tourist centres.

dancin' wenches and merriment.......Arrrrrrrrrrr
Once again I ran around silly with the camera and got to talk to heaps of Shaggers. The art deco on the walls of the pub really did lend itself to the pirate theme and a great place to stage some photos of the day.

Pirates on the beach
Thoughts of the great waterfront at Dingo Beach especial at low tide, kept nagging me. When there seemed a quiet moment in the partying, at least for me, I stole away for a look. I was not to be disappointed! A long sweeping low level sandy beach with a glistening low tide flat which seemed to go out for ½ a mile, dotted with a couple of small sailing boats high and dry out of the water and very few people to be seen. The beach is a beachcomber's delight with many unique shells and object that wash off the magnificent Great Barrier Reef.
Dingo Beach
If this is what we get in the middle of the afternoon imagine what this beach at low tide would be like at sunrise or sunset. Just magic!
